Day 1: 7.09.2008 - SUNDAY
Registration of participants, who do not stay in hotels or have not made the congress payment - Auditorium Maximum UJ (ul. Krupnicza 35) - 7th September 2008 between 9.00 a.m.- 8 p.m.

- Congress Opening - 4.00 pm
The Grand Hall, Auditorium Maximum of the Jagiellonian University (Krupnicza str.)
- Message of the President of the Republic of Poland Lech Kaczyński to the Participants of the Congress, Secretary of State, Vice-Manager of the President's Office Piotr Kownacki
- Address by the Minister of Economy
- Address by the President of Krakow, President of Katowice and President of Sosnowiec
- Address by the President of the World Mining Congress - „50 years of the World Mining Congress"
Apart from the official ceremony, the agenda includes:
- a preview of the art exhibition entitled: "Marked by coal - Silesian Artists of the Mining Descent" venue: Exhibition Hall
- a preview of the Polish domestic philatelic exhibition Cracow 2008 entitled: "Mining on Polish Postage Stamps" venue: Exhibition Hall
- performance by the "Śląsk" Song and Dance Ensemble - venue: Grand Hall
- Welcome Reception venue: Restaurant Hall
Opening Ceremony ticket is included in the registration fee.
Day 2: 8.09.2008 - MONDAY
- 8.00 - 9.00 a.m. - Author's Breakfast (venue: Auditorium Maximum UJ, Krupnicza str.)
- 9.00 a.m. - 1.00 p.m. - Plenary Lectures
- 1.00 - 3.00 p.m. - Lunch
- 3.00 - 6.30 p.m. - Plenary Lectures
- 6.30 - 8.00 p.m. - Dinner
- 8.00 - 10.00 p.m. - Entertainment show: mining traditions and a traditional miner initiation rite (called „jump over a leather apron")
Day 3: 09.09.2008 - TUESDAY
- 9:00 - meeting of the participants of external sessions S8 (Bełchatów) and S7 (Lubin) Main Hall, Auditorium Maximum of the Jagiellonian University, Krupnicza str.
- 9:15 - 10:00 every 15 minutes departure of couches taking the participants of the Congress to World Mining Expo Exhibition in Sosnowiec.
Couches will be waiting at Auditoirum Maximum of the Jagiellonian University, ul. Krupnicza 35 and at the same time at Cracovia and Sheraton hotels
ATTENTION: boarding the couch and entering the exhibition is possible after displaying Congress Identification Badge!
- Opening of EXPO in Sosnowiec - a visit by Congress attendees
- Departure from Sosnowiec to Belchatow and Lubin
Day 4: 10.09.2008 - WEDNESDAY
